Brody was born on March 16th at 10:43 pm. He was a whopping 8 pounds 9 ounces. If you had seen Amy before she had him, you would have never guessed he would have been that big! All of us and all of Chris' family got to the hospital about 3 or 4 ready for him to make his appearance.
We were all pretty happy and excited to start out with. We all went in to see Amy for a little bit before she wanted to take a short nap. We hung out in the waiting room for a while. Chris would come in from time to time giving us updates.
About 8 or so he came in and said she was about to start pushing. We had been told that she wouldn't be pushing for long. At about 9:30 or so we started getting restless. We had not heard from Chris and no one would give us any information. The hospital was VERY tight lipped about everything, which I guess I can understand. About 10:30, we were all in the hallway, ready to be the "paparazzi" when Chris came out to give us the news, when we heard "Code Blue to Labor and Delivery" on the intercom. Doctors and nurses started running everywhere. I have honestly, never been so scared. There were only a handful of deliveries taking place, so the likelihood that it was Amy was big. We were finally about to talk some janitors into telling us what room the code blue was in. It wasn't Amy.
A little bit before 11, Chris sent us a text saying Brody was born and his heart rate was good, but he was having trouble breathing. We all immediately started praying. We knew that he had had a bowel movement before they broke Amy's water. He ended up swallowing some of the meconium. He was taking to the NICU. Doctors came in and told Amy all of the things that could possibly happen to him over night. THANK GOD he didn't read the book on what was supposed to happen to him. He recovered much better and far faster than anyone thought he would. He was able to completely come off of all the oxygen within the first 24 hours. Each day he was in the NICU we got better news. He was able to be moved to a regular bed on Sunday and Amy was able to put clothes on him on Monday.
He was able to come home Tuesday night. Because only Mommy and Daddy can hold the baby in NICU we had not been able to hold him. We were so excited that we were finally able to get our hands on our little miracle baby!

| Being spoiled by Granddaddy |
We are so happy that Brody is happy and healthy. He is already on his way to be spoiled rotten by his uncles, aunt, and grandparents!! And now he has an extra special guardian angel watching over him from Heaven.
