Fourth of July

I realize I haven't blogged pretty much all summer! It has been such a busy summer! We went to the beach and then spent some time in Atlanta. Since then I've been working with my dad on and off and we've had more doctor appointments. I have lots to catch up with on the blog but that will wait until later!

We spent today at the lake. We knew that the forecast wasn't good but we were hoping for a little bit of sun! Or at the very least, a break in the rain. Amy and Chris and Brody got here about lunchtime. It wasn't raining to so we didn't waste much time getting out on the water. We went for a short boat ride and anchored out for a few minutes. Brody loved the boat ride and loved swimming in the lake. He really just wanted to play on the ladder on the back of the boat. Brody decided that we should head on back to the house to ride the seedoos after we had been out there for about 20 minutes. So we did. Uncle B was able to ride him around on the seedoo for a few minutes before the rain started picking back up.

We didn't get to play long but we came inside and ate and ate. Ben and I drove to Marks Mart yesterday and picked up lots of nacho dip, chicken, and some pork chops. Marks Mart has the best seasoning on their meats. Dad and Ben grilled everything. It was great! We tried to fry stuffed jalapeños but they didn't turn out all that great so well have to try those again! 

Since it rained the rest of the afternoon we hung around inside and on the screened in porch. As of 8:30 tonight, we have had 14.67 inches of rain just today!! Good grief!!

Overall, we had a great 4th of July spending time with our family and eating some good food!
