So we left last Wednesday morning heading to Minnesota. Ben's Uncle, Rodney was getting married. Ben's Dad was a groomsman. We decided to make a road trip out of it. We all loaded up into Nanny and Pa's RV and headed north...
This is us before heading out. We were very excited!!!
My mom was keeping Bentley, so we decided that we would just drop him off on the way. As soon as we got on the road he found his spot at the top of the couch.
Our first stop was at my moms office. I was kinda sad to leave Bentley, but I knew he would have fun with my parents and Bailey.

Me and my gorgeous mom!

Had to get a pic of the truck stop.

We made it to our first state... Tennessee!

We hadn't made it very far into Tennessee when the generator messed up. We stopped at a truck stop to see if we could fix it. Sadly we couldn't. Ben suggested we go to the closest Camping World to get it fixed. The girls said we shouldn't, a decision we came to regret!

The very pretty city of Nashville..

We were entering Kentucky... I didn't get the sign.. :(

Next state... Illinois

We went through Metropolis... which is the home of Superman! On the way home Ben bought souviners from the gas station.

Little did we know that this farm land was just the beginning of what we would see. But isn't it amazing? It was so flat and pretty!

St. Louis kind of snuck up on me, I wasn't able to get a Welcome to Missouri sign. Here are the boys trying to figure out where to go.

Our first glimpse of the arch in St. Louis. We didn't get to see it up close because it was getting dark and we wanted to get to the campground. But we could see it for forever so it had to be huge!

The arch and downtown St. Louis... gorgeous!

A church in downtown St. Louis...

The campground that we were orignially going to stay in was literally in downtown St. Louis in a not-so-good-part-of-town... I don't think we would have gotten any sleep if we had stayed there. But luckily Rhonda came to the rescue and took us to another campground.

Finally we made it to our campground... We were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. It actually had a resturant and everything - even though we didn't eat there...
Here are the boys getting everything ready for our stay.

We were at campsite #67... just in case your were wondering.
Day 2 on the road... At this point we were finding anything to keep ourselves entertained. We were really wishing we had stopped and had the generator fixed because we were bored out of our minds and by early afternoon we were almost dying from the heat! It was actually cooler outside than it was in our motor home...

We had already seen a lot of gorgeous land in the United States that most of us had not seen. While we were bored and hot for most of day 2, we really realized how pretty the United States is. It shows just how amazing our God is to make this amazing country.
To be continued...
